| "Books
Without Borders":
A gift of books, from children for children.
Nigeria
/ Pacifica / NZ: In 2001 leading NZ educator
Fiona Lovatt Davis returned from a seminar in Nigeria moved by the
plight of the children she encountered there, and determined to
make a difference. She sent back a monumental gift; the gift of
literacy. Her passion, drive and dream saw over 100 tons of books
donated by New Zealand school children shipped to Nigeria, and 100
cartons of books sailed by private cruising boats to the Pacific
Islands. Her incredible success is even more amazing when you consider
no money has changed hands!
